Due to the current pandemic circumstances that we, as a global community are facing, Macaw Security Solutions Limited (Macaw) wish to ensure that all workers, employees and customers are aware of the processes and systems the company will adopt to protect the workforce and their clients.

WHAT IS CORONAVIRUS OR COVID-19?

COVID:19 or Coronavirus is a type of virus. Typical symptoms include; fever, a cough that may progress to severe pneumonia, causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Generally, Coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

In order to protect the health and safety of our clients and workforce, we have implemented some changes in operation. The changes are designed to protect everyone from the spread of the virus and provide a clean and safe working environment, whilst maintaining the service necessary to protect the community. We ask for your understanding and your support at this time. These measures will include

  • Avoiding direct hand contact with eyes, nose and mouth
  • Maintaining good hand hygiene – washing hands with soap and water or alcohol hand sanitiser, which will be supplied to engineers in the field, and using disposable tissues and disposing of them in the nearest waste bin after use
  • Avoiding direct contact with people that have a respiratory illness
  • Field staff wearing gloves and overshoes to limit direct contact with property
  • Maintaining a six-foot distance from other people whilst in the workplace, or at customer premises
  • Avoiding the need for direct contact with personal items such as mobile phones and the need to sign off paperwork manually

MACAW RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To keep everyone updated on actions being taken to reduce risks of exposure in the workplace
  • Make sure everyone’s contact numbers and emergency contact details are up to date
  • Consider extra precautions for staff who might be more vulnerable, for example if someone is pregnant, aged 70 or over, or has a pre-existing health condition
  • Make sure managers know how to spot symptoms of Coronavirus and are clear on any relevant processes
  • Make sure that washing hands with hot water and soap, is maintained regularly provide hand sanitiser/tissues/outdoor shoe covers for staff and encourage them to use them.
  • To manage home working for office staff where possible and to ensure we comply with government guidelines for space between co-workers in the office and field environment
  • To ensure all field staff comply with the strict non-cross contamination directives to ensure the safety of our clients
